Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about the Independent Way Funeral Plan. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have a question we haven't answered.

Yes, simply complete the ‘plan holder’s representative’ section of the application process. We will arrange for all correspondence to be sent to you, however if paying by fixed monthly payment, please note the plan holder will be contacted directly by AXA Wealth Ltd who provide this payment option.

Please let us know you are moving so we can update our records. You will have the option to move your plan to a different funeral director, if required.

If you cancel within 30 days we will refund the payment you have made. For details of cancellation terms after 30 days, please see the terms and conditions.

We promise to accept your application, regardless of your state of health

No matter how old you are, no matter how much funeral directors' costs may rise, you and your loved ones will never be asked for a penny more for the services and costs guaranteed within your funeral plan.

As an additional benefit, should you die away from home but within mainland UK, we will arrange transportation back to the funeral home. Overseas transportation is not included in your plan. Please refer to the terms and conditions for full details.

As a plan holder you will receive a membership pack containing contact details for your funeral director. When the time comes your family simply contacts us and quotes your plan number. We will then take care of all the arrangements. Plans allow you to outline any wishes or requests you may have for your funeral.

We are proud to be registered with the Funeral Planning Authority and follow their Code of Practice. Also, we’re the only funeral plan provider recommended by the National Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF).

With a Golden Charter Funeral Plan, your payments are completely protected. Your money is paid into the Golden Charter Trust, which is run by an independent Board of Trustees who manage the Trust’s funds on behalf of our plan holders and safeguard future payments to funeral directors. When the time comes, the funeral director’s services included in your plan are guaranteed to be covered.
